I am a member of the History Department at Xavier University in Cincinnati, and I serve as Co-Director of Xavier’s International Studies program. My research is on modern Mexican history, and I teach courses on various topics in Latin American history. I am interested in exploring both the nuts-and-bolts aspects of accomplishing a digital project and the larger issue of how digital technologies can change the kinds of scholarly questions a historian might ask. I am particularly interested in how to use digital technologies to disseminate historical research in formats other than the written monograph. I am currently developing a project on Guanajuato, Mexico, and I'm hoping to use digital technologies to explore how Guanajuato’s history (including its distinctive myths and legends) has been mapped onto the layout of the city (including its unique subterranean aspects), and how that historical-cultural map has changed over time.
